James Howard Kunstler's 2010 predictions

James Kunstler, author of the Long Emergency, presents his forecast for the coming year. Essential reading in my opinion.

  1. Hey Don,

Hope you had a Happy Holiday Season..., and hope that happiness follows you, Leah, and the rest of the family throughout the New Year and well beyond. I might add that I wish the same for folks the world over..., but am not sure that wish will come to pass.

Any idea what is going on over at The Agonist? I see Celsius 233 commented over at Ian's that it had been down for over 10 hours..., but I don't know what time he posted it?

Just as well..., I had resolved to "grade" my posts there during the last year. Like Denninger did with his. And speaking of Den..., I think he reads The Agonist..., he used my "Bang the drum" tag in his latest post. Anyway..., with The Agonist down..., it saves me from having to label myself a procrastinator. No, no, no..., not making a New Year's resolution !!!!

But let me make one for you. Write more..., make that, post more..., I am sure you are writing. Finished your three books a while back..., and was wishing for more for Christmas. I liked "Runinations..." best of the three..., not that "Contra..." or "Swing..." were not thoroughly enjoyable. As a way of explanation let me say that I much prefer Thomas McGuane's essays to his fiction. You are getting better with every piece..., write on..., and don't forget to share. Good advice to the rest of the world as well.
